• Overview

  Tourists who come to admire the reserve will have the opportunity to view rich flora and fauna within the most bio-diversified wetland in Vietnam, according to research by national and international scientists.The eco-tourism destination was built by the Association of Forest Investigation and Zoning based on a community self-management model sponsored by the Embassy of the Netherlands in Vietnam.This model has helped to promote community participation in terms of conservation and the sustainable use of biological resources to maintain the riverine wetland ecosystem of Van Long Nature Reserve in Ninh Binh.

  Itinerary

  We start our tour from hotel at 8:00 am. After a 105 km drive through rural northern Vietnam to Ninh Binh, we’ll arrive at Van Long, the biggest the Nature Reserve in Northern Vietnam. There we’ll board a bamboo sampan propelled by oars and poles, enjoying the spectacular sceneries of limestone formations, peaceful shallow waters and rice paddies. We’ll stand on chances to see various tropical aquatic creatures, endangered birds and white-breeched langurs. After lunch at a local riverside restaurant we proceed to Hoa Lu, the first royal capital of Vietnam’s centralized feudal state from 968 – 1010 led by three dynasties of Dinh, Early Le and Ly. After visiting the two remaining sanctuaries of the ancient citadel. We will then return to Hanoi late in the afternoon.
