The starting point  is located in group 11 in Sapa town and then cross the Muong Hoa valley to connect with new destinations and to the top of Fansipan at an altitude of 2,900 - 3,000m.  Currently the highest point of Fansipan  is at 3,143m high. This is 7km-long cable system – the first of its kind in Asia – will be able to carry a maximum of 2,000 people per hour, with a capacity of 35 passengers per car and takes 15 minutes each way. It is said to be the longest and most complicated cable car system in the World also. The project is estimated to be completed by 2017. It should attract more tourists to Sapa and promote the potential economic advantages of Lao Cai province as well as the famous tours in Sapa.
